Mary Meagher

Mary was an inspiration to me when I was the first female firefighter in the NPS at Yellowstone NP in the late 1970's. Mary supported my academic studies in biology and encouraged me to pursue science projects for the biologist's office on my off days. She invited me to do research on a semester break and I worked on her projects with bears, elk and bison with her mentorship. Mary was no nonsense and I loved her dearly. We kept up a correspondence over the years that I am so grateful for....

My husband, Norm Dodge shared his time in Yellowstone with Mary. He thought highly of her.

I had several classic wildlife observation trips on horseback with Mary over 50 years ago. She was a fountain of knowledge about the biology and history of Yellowstone, which she willingly shared. RIP
