Tuscaloosa - Mary Alice Ireland Patrick Moore 93, of Tuscaloosa, passed away February 4, 2021 in Northport, AL.
Mary Alice Ireland Patrick Moore was born on December 30, 1927 in Northport, Alabama. She was the youngest of 11 children. She married Charles Junior Patrick and had her only son, Charles Freeman Patrick, when she was only 16 years old. She and Charles Junior Patrick later divorced and she later married Jack V. Moore. They were happily married until his death in 2001.
Mary Alice was a very hard worker. She started working in her teens and worked until she was in her 80's! She was an excellent seamstress. She could make anything. In her 60's, she opened a local garment alternation shop called the "Stitchery". She made custom drapes, comforters, and performed garment alternations for many people in town. She loved working and visiting with people but the family finally convinced her it was time to retire when she was in her 80's. In retirement, she moved onto the property of her son and his wife so she could be close to the family. Her most favorite past time was sitting on her enclosed front porch keeping an eye on the comings and goings of everyone and looking at the deer and the birds. She was an avid animal lover and especially loved cats. She loved her son, Charles Freeman Patrick; step-daughter, Diane Moore Russell; her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren immensely. She touched so many people's lives. Her memory will be treasured forever.
Survivors include step-daughter, Diane Moore Russell, Brandon, MS; son, Charles Freeman Patrick, Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Angela Patrick Wilson, Raytown, TX, Carla Patrick Burkes, Tuscaloosa, and Charles Jason Patrick, Northport; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Patrick, Tuscaloosa, Colton Wilson, Baytown, TX, Luke Wilson, Baytown, TX, Ashley Burkes, Tuscaloosa, Landry Patrick, Tuscaloosa, Macy Burkes, Tuscaloosa, Grant Patrick, Tuscaloosa, Remi Griffin, Brandon, MS, Gatlin Jack Griffin, Brandon, MS, Anniston Griffin, Brandon, MS, and Cody Griffin, Brandon, MS.
Mary was preceded in death by husband, Jack V. Moore; first husband, Charles Jr. Patrick; great-grandson, Logan Patrick; and all 11 brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Eastern Star presiding. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Heritage Chapel Funeral & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider directing.
