Mary, please rest in peace for you are now in the hands of God. Although, I only knew you for such a short time, I have thought about you many times and wondered where you went once you left LaGrange,Ga. I went to Mary's Going Home Celabration yesterday, there was some saddness but mostly there was hope. Thank God for Mary, who touched each of us.

I first learned of the shooting while watching the evening news, Thursday, February 27, 2003. The Birmingham News published an article detailing the shooting of Mrs. Mary Morgan the following day.
Only two days prior to the shooting I had the pleasure of meeting this dear lady. She had beautiful white hair, lovely blue eyes and a smile that would melt all your troubles away.
