Mary was the systems manager at the Wal-Mart distribution center in Greencastle, retiring with 27 years of service.  She was a member at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and a faithful volunteer with Bernie’s Buffet.  She loved craft and hobby shows, the covered bridge festival and was always actively gardening.  She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren, attending their sporting events and activities regularly.

Born June 10, 1948 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of William McKeown and Margaret Dunn McKeown.  She graduated from Crawfordsville High School and later attended IUPUI for classes in computer programming.

Surviving family includes: two daughters, Andrea Thompson of Crawfordsville, Rachel Rasp of Brownsburg; son, Patrick Michael and his wife, Tonya, of Crawfordsville; sisters, Judy Tulley of Crawfordsville, Susy Yarger of Bloomington, Dorothy Rice of Lebanon; brother, Richard “Kim” McKeown of Crawfordsville; sister, Margaret Howden of Darlington; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Taylore, Zoe, Sophie, Dakota, Dylan, Maggie; three great-grandchildren, Siddalee, Aiden and Remington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters.

Public visitation will be from 2 to 5 Sunday, June 14th at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 1306 E. Main Street.  Social distancing is expected.  Mass will be in the church at 11 AM on Monday, June 15th, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor her commitment to Bernie’s Buffet with a donation in her name to Bernie’s Buffet, 1306 E. Main Street, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. Online condolences can be made at www.BurkhartFH.com.
