Mary Lou Nettles

Mrs. Mary Lou Nettles, 64, died Saturday morning (June 7, 2014) at Hospice House Satilla following an extended illness. She was born in Homerville but had lived most of her life in Blackshear before moving to Axson several months ago. She was also a seamstress at Matt's Jackets and a member of Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Nettles was a daughter to the late Lester William Bennett. She was married to the late Edmond Nettles and preceded in death by a brother, Bill Bennett; and a sister, Helen Bennett. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Nettles of Axson; a son, Jackie Nettles of Axson; four grandchildren, McKenna Nettles, Brandon Nettles, Michael Nettles, and Aaron Nettles; five great grandchildren; her mother, Mary Jane Bennett of Millwood; three sisters, Lucille Crosby (husband Buddy) of Axson, Betty Bennett of Waycross, and Susan Bennett of Axson; a brother, Donald Bennett (wife Linda) of Millwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday (June 8, 2014) at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in Mt. Green Cemetery.
