Just heard about Mary Jo's passing. As a young biology teacher at Juarez in the late 1970's, Mary Jo was a mentor and friend. I learned much from her and mourn her passing. RIP.

Mrs. O'Connor was my physics teacher at Juarez back in the 80's. She made learning an experience. A great teacher that really cared about her students. May you Rest in Peace.

May God comfort Mary Jo's family and welcome her into his kingdom. It was my good fortune to meet Mary Jo at Juarez High School January, 1978 where we became fast friends. Kind, caring and passionate, Mary Jo was a natural teacher who inspired her students to study and work diligently to achieve their goals. Rest in Peace, Mary Jo. You've done an admiral job and you won't be forgotten. Thankfully, we have plenty of happy, heart warming memories. I'm glad I got to know you.

I loved her. She is one of the reasons I studied science. Because of her to this day I love physics, I mean I take free courses on line just because, who does that? I do, thank Ms. O'Connor for believing in your inner city kids. She also introduced me to Far Side comics. She was one incredible teacher, friend and comedian. The world has lost a real treasure. I am now a scientist and remember her often.

Ms. O'connor was my physics teacher at Juarez High School. I still remember her laughter and the experiments she had us do in the hallway. My deepest sympathies to the family.
