The Matriarch. The Mema. The Magical Storyteller. I loved hearing Cathy's fun stories of her Lake Michigan summers with Mom. May those beautiful sunset memories help carry the Pappas family forward to creating more good times. The Madrigals send love and light.

So many precious memories of family gatherings when we had young kids. I’m thankful for her joyful spirit and all those good times.

I am truly lucky to have been able to spend time with Mary as a teenage friend of Cathy and also as an adult. We are eternally grateful for the very special and longtime relationship that she and John have had with my parents as well as myself and children. She will be immeasureably missed. Sending much love to the entire Pappas family

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. God has blessed me with my dear friend Dr. John Pappas. Knowing him, I can only guess the love and joy of his life has passed on. God will hold them both in his hands and give them comfort.

Dear Aunt Mary will be deeply missed by our family, we are sad beyond words. She had a wonderful joyous spirit and beautiful smile. Thanks to Mary, laughter filled the air at family gatherings, of which, there were many, over the years. I live in southwest Michigan. My tall sorrel quarter horse Hawke became an equine ambassador of goodwill those summers when Mary orchestrated lead line rides for all Pappas grandkids during Lake Michigan visits. It is so difficult to say goodbye, but we will...

When I became "Caretaker" of the Ladies Literary Club , in 2009, Mary was one of the first of the Ladies I worked with the closest with.
Can you imagine what a great start I had ? That lasted for 8 wonderful years.
When I think of Mary, I will always feel loved.
