Not sure what to say?

I knew Sissy when she used to beat me around the tennis court for 4 years at Slippery Rock University. I never did beat her, not once, but never gave up trying. Sissy was a friend in the true sense of the word. She would do anything for anyone. It was such an honor and pleasure to be her friend and to have known her. I can't imagine the pain and anguish that the family has gone through. Know that Sissy dearly loved all of you. She lit up, laughed and smiled as she told endless stories...

I don't know where to begin. Sissy and Tom lived next to us when I was a kid. I have played sports my entire life and was not by any definition a couch potatoe, but Sissy's passion for motivating others had no limit. And most of what I can remember is trying my best to keep up with Sissy. Even when she was extremely pregnant with Christian, she was a ball of energy that couldn't be explained unless you witnessed it for yourself. She always taught, and showed me how to push yourself to the...

Sissy,

I cannot not believe that I will not see your face along with that high spirit of yours anymore. Just when life couldn't get more tragic, this happens. You knew little of me, but didn't have too to send kindness and happiness my way. Well, if you were here, I know that you'd tell me to keep on punching. You'd tell me to enjoy my kids and the sports that they are a part of. You'd tell me that your spirit will never leave. So I'll keep on punching, I'll enjoy my kids while...

My sympathies to Sissy's family. I was a year ahead of her at Gettysburg High School and we played softball and basketball together. I am very happy to read what she had accomplished in her life both personally and professionally. She was a lot of fun to be around.

God gave the world such a wonderful spark of life when he created Sissy. Her infectious personality and abundant love for our lord was unavoidable. It was close to overwhelming whenever you came in contact with her. Although my family feels a tremendous loss and will miss her dearly, we feel very, very fortunate to have met her and her family and call them our friends.

Sissy we will never forget you! You are a true witness to Christ and an inspiration to us all.

I only knew Sissy for a short time. Her energy and enthusiasm were truly amazing and her smile contagious. She was never at a loss to say just the right thing. My thoughts and prayers are with the Pastirik family. I wish them strength during this difficult time.

MY SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO SISSY'S FAMILY. I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH HER AND ENJOYED HER FRIENDSHIP VERY MUCH. WE PLAYED BASKETBALL TOGETHER IN JR HIGH, AND CONTINUED A FRIENDSHIP THRU SCHOOL. I REMEMBER HER LAUGH AND HOW SHE ENJOYED SMILING . I WILL MISS HER, BUT IN OUR MEMORIES SHE WILL NEVER BE GONE.

The family of Sissy continue to be in our thoughts and prayers as we, the Parish Family of Sacred Heart Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. pray for Sissy as she now rests in the arms of her God. May our God hold each of you close and give you peace.
With love and prayers,
Sister Connie Koch, OP

I was blessed to have known Sissy. We lived on the same block in Winston Salem. Her son Christian and mine were great friends and grew up together. Every morning as my husband and I rolled out of bed, there was Sissy jogging down the street. She always waved as she ran by regardless if we could see her or not. By the time my husband and I were on our 3rd cup of coffee and still lounging around, there came Sissy again riding a bike with her kids. My husband and I would joke about it. " We...
