Not sure what to say?

One of our fondest memories is the time spent in Mission San Jose with our friends, Mary Eileen and Dick. Mary Eileen was an angel with a devilish glint in her eye. We loved her and shall remember her always.

To my classmate of Lourdes, '48, we will miss you Mary Eileen. You always had a great smile, a warm greeting and a sincerity we all will remember.

The Paynters were my neighbors in Fremont. Mary Eileen could always bring a smile to my face with her quick wit and sense of humor. I will miss her, but heaven has a very special angel. My deepest sympathies to Dick, Katie, Beth, Tom and their families.

Just want you to know that Mary Eileen is so fondly remembered by the Salinas Messner/Paynters.
I remember going to Granny Ruth's house every Christmas, and when Mary Eileen showed up, the party started. She would come up to the "kids" room and play with us and laugh with us. What a special lady.
We lost Dad to the same thing so we have an idea what you are going through.
Please know our love and our prayers are with you all.
Melinda Messner-Rios

Family get together's were always fun with Mary Eileen there. She was a wonderful role model, it was a privledge to know her.

My condolences to Dick, Katie, Beth, Tom and their families. There is a new, beautiful star in the heavens watching over you.

Mary Eileen and Dick were our neaghbors in Fremont. We all moved in to our new houses about the same time. It was the greatest neaghborhood ever and by far the most fun. Mary Eileen always kept us laughing and wondering what she would say next. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. I can't be there but send my love to Dick, Katy ,Beth and Tom and her whole family along with my heartfelt sympathy.

I knew Mary Eileen as "Mrs. Paynter" all my early life growing up as a schoolmate with her son, Tom. We lived two blocks away. She was a great mom; always involved with her kids and their activities. Not long ago, my father passed away. It meant a lot to me to see Mary Eileen and Dick after so many years show up at his funeral. From my own experience, I know how difficult her loss must be to her family. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Tom & his sisters, as well as to Dick & the rest of...

There is greater joy in Heaven with Mary Eileen's arrival. No one could make me laugh more or harder. We were next-door neighbors for forty years and they were the best years, full of laughter, tears, fun and friendship.
She lives on in the hearts of anyone who ever knew her. I'll miss you dear friend, until we meet again. Dot O'Connor

When I first met Mary Eileen at MSJHS, I thought she was this quiet, retiring, sweet, nun-like lady. It didn't take long to discover that while she was sweet, the other descriptions didn't apply. She had the most marvelous sense of humor and love of friends and family. She will be greatly missed.
