Not sure what to say?

I am forever grateful to Mary Ellen for her work with refugees and for her graciousness in introducing me to her work which I have continued and follow in her footsteps Crystal Sahner

Mary Ellen showed such strength and determination throughout her life, and it brings me joy to remember her.

This morning, I was reading a novel and thought of Mary Ellen and her love of books. She inspired me to read more, and I am grateful to her for this gift.

Mary Ellen and I were college roommates at Northeastern University in Tahlequah, Ok in the Summer of 1963. We became immediate friends and I will never forget her friendly smile and lovely Southern accent. I took a bus to Arkansas in 1964 and stayed with her in her dorm for a few days. We lost touch about a year after she got married, but I can tell from her FB page that we would have remained close friends if we had lived near each other. My condolences to her family. I'm sorry it took...

Wow. I am so saddened to just now learn of this loss via the KPA newsletter. Mary Ellen's background in Art Therapy was incredibly helpful to myself and all of her Spalding Psy.D. classmates. She shared this knowledge willingly and with great enthusiasm, as she did with everything. She helped to make all of us better clinicians. A true loss indeed.

We have known Mary Ellen for over 40 years, and we are greatly saddened by this unexpected news. Mary Ellen's love for her sons and their families was so strong, and her delight in them was such a joy. Our most heart-felt condolences to all the family. Jean and Steve Bodman, Colorado Springs

Remembering your great love story today and always.

Mary Ellen returned to Houma, LA for her 50th. reunion of the 1961 class of Terrebonne High School!

I am so sorry for this tremendous loss. Mary Ellen was a huge influence on my career. She supervised me as a grad student at St. Francis of Assisi School and gave me my first paying job after graduation at Highland Refugee Ministry. I have fond memories of conversations over tea and her wonderful book recommendations--all different types of books! Her kindness and wisdom will not be forgotten.
