PIECEK, MARY R. Flushing Age 96, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at Fostrian Manor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue in Flint, Father Robert Copeland officiating. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Piecek will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Powers Catholic High School. Mary was born in Flint, Michigan on October 18, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Suchy) Cmejrek.On July 12, 1941 she married Leopold Piecek. Surviving are daughter, Rosemarie and husband Douglas Wagar; grandchildren, Angela and husband Zach Hewitt and Alana Wagar; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Hewitt; sister-in-law, Katie Pavich and Helen Adams; brother-in-law, Mel Howell; several nieces and nephews. So sorry to hear of my Aunts passing. I know She is in a better place with Uncle Leo, listening and laughing at Her brothers jokes!
