Mary E. Pierman

On October 4, 2017, at the age of 89. (nee Torpey). Lifelong resident of Gloucester City. Loving mother of Samuel Pierman, Thomas Pierman (Barbara) and James Pierman (Kathy). Cherished grandmother of Sam Pierman, Scott Pierman, Mary Ann Pierman Rakus, Wendy Chapman, Thomas Pierman, Holly Blackiston and John Pierman and great grandmother of 17. Beloved sister of Russell Torpey and David Torpey. Predeceased by her brothers, Thomas Torpey and William Torpey and her sister, Betty Lamanteer.

Mary was born in Gloucester City on April 16, 1928 to Thomas and Mary Torpey (nee Burgess). She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and former resident of Gloucester Towne, where she was the secretary/treasurer on the tenants association. Mary previously worked as a factory worker for Omega Engineering in Swedesboro.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday morning, October 9th, from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM in the church. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
