Not sure what to say?

Dearest Mary,
Not only did I love the history from "A League Of Their Own", but the history of all you Rockford Peaches. You worked through many long hours, many long practicing days, through brusies, bumps, sprained ankles and fingers. You were truly an inspiration for those not just in that time of war, but for those still today. For our teams that were inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame. Even though you haven't played baseball since the war your legend lives on. You may not have...

Dearest Mary,
You were truly a member of the all American league. You were then, and are still today an inspiration to all those that love baseball, and only wish that today women's baseball was still as popular as it was during the war. All you Rockford Peaches played through injuries, and long hours, and many adversities. Your a Peach in many ways then just one. You may not be playing baseball here on earth, or have played for many years, but you're all now playing in heaven.

Many, many years ago, MISS PRATT, came to our school for our first Physical Education lessons of jumping jacks, walking with a book on our heads and of course the bean bag toss. She certainly was in a league of her own. Well loved and respected by many during her life. It was always nice to bump into her in later years in Quincy to listen to her wonderful stories. Our sympathy to her entire family. She will be remembered missed by all of her PE students. God Bless.

Although I never met her I know how she influenced the game for women.

I fondly recall Mary Pratt as a Phys Ed teacher in Quincy MA. She would have us line up and stand at home plate. Raise your right arm, thats right field. Raise your left arm, thats left field. Later I worked with her in the Quincy Recreation Programs and I ran her basketball tournament for her at the Snug Harbor School. She was an inspiration for young girls but every guy I knew was in awe of her as well for her athletic career. One of my daughters was thrilled to meet her when she spoke at....

Mary Pratt,
You have inspired so many people in your life! I came to learn about you in the movie, A League If Their Own. Also, found out you were a Rockford Peach. My mother-in-law was born, 1930 in Rockford,Ill., Rita Ann Elliott Brannick, and she grew up there. I am quite sure she may have attended games because her father was a huge baseball fan as so am I.
Thank you Mary Pratt for being a great pitcher and leader and teacher!
Rest In Peace!!!
