I lived across the street from the Nashes in Seattle starting in 1956. Her son, Tom, and I were close friends until they moved to a different neighborhood in Seattle. I do remember her daughter calling her son "Toad." When I got sick and had to stay home from school, my mother would read some chapters from one of the Mrs. Coverlet books.

Mary accepted me into one of her Radcliffe Institute courses when I was a young mother and hopeful writer. She was gracious, giving and very, very supportive. I hate to learn of the passings of people I loved by having to go online to search for them, but I am glad to have found Mary Nash.

So many wonderful memories of Aunt Mandy. She and Ed took me in when I was at Bradford. The Coverlet books were read many times by our children and grandchildren. Wonderful times at Grammy's house.
Keeping you all in our prayers,
Lieschen
