Mary B. Rhoads

Dear family, we were heartsick to learn today that Mary had died. We enjoyed her visits to our bookshop and recently to your house to admire her book collection. We had hoped to have lunch together at Valentine's Day and sadly will miss the opportunity. Her bright wit and sweet smile will be remembered by us always. We will miss her.

So many fond memories of visits to her home with so many interesting objects to see.On one occassion I slid down their bannister,which was forbidden,and my mother got a call from Mrs . Rhoades asking her to enforce the penalty for such an act..... NO DESERT! In later years after Mr Rhoades had passed it was always a treat to see her working in her yard, and stopping just to say hello and chat for a bit and find her so pleasant .
