Not sure what to say?

We remember the wonderful Maine foggy morning forays into nature and privileged trips into the studio to check out what was lately blooming on the "canvasses", punctuated by early afternoon plunges into the icy waters followed by VERY quick swimming and laughter all around. Such lively and mystical fun. I can see Mary Jo smiling in heaven, ready to burst into one of her suddenly complicit laughs...

Rines Family,

Rob and I were so sad to hear about Mary Jo's passing. We both have such wonderful memories of Weston living and holiday gatherings. In particular, we recall bringing our baby twins to your Christmas Eve gathering - how welcoming you all were and warm! Thinking of you all and hoping that you find strength from each other during this most difficult time.

Love Rob and Maureen King

Dear Uncle Mel,
We are so sad to hear of Aunt Mary Jo's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Mel and family, We are so very sorry to hear of Mary Jo's passing. She certainly was a wonderful person and added so much to everyone's life. All will miss her as you do and our thoughts are with you and your family. We are too far away to attend the service but we'll be thinking of you. Would love to hear about Mel's new books. Come visit the Northwest sometime. Love to all, Sue and Bryan Cairns

Mel,
I was lucky enough to meet Mary Jo (and you) through Gracia. She brought happiness to all who encountered here i extend my deepest sympathy

Our prayers are with you Mel. Such an accomplished artist...someone who always chose to dance rather than sit on the sidelines. God Bless you and your family at this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Diane and Guy Randlett

I loved her shell paintings from the first time I saw them. And a couple of years ago we painted the tidal pool at Rachel Carson's house all day. The Boothbay Region has lost a great one. We shall miss her warm smile and painting companionship.

We loved her.

Always smiling, always full of artistic humor - a wonderful life-long friend from the Skidmore class 0f "53 Loving sympathies to her handsome husband, beautiful children. Mary Jo will live forever in the spirits of everyone honored to have known her. with loving prayers, Jacquie and Don Martin
