Our deepest sympathy to Mary Nelle's family and close friends. She was a shining light and inspiration to all as we worked on the high school text series based on Dos Mundos. I remember most her passion for teaching and writing, her disciplined mind, her great sense of humor, and her unwavering, cheerful support for her friends no matter their backgrounds. She was and is a role model for us all who will be greatly missed and always admired.

I was a student of Prof. Rogers at WSU way back in the 70s, and appreciated her expertise, her intellectual aura, and her warm, engaging personality. She was always cheerful, witty, and helpful. I'm impressed with all that she accomplished during a full life.

I studied French all 4 years in high school, and my French teacher became a lifelong...
