Mary Ruth Patrick Watson, age 71, a resident of Short Street in Salyersville, Kentucky; passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at her home. Mary was born June 15, 1945 in Salyersville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Myrtle Maloney Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Watson Sr., whom she married June 19,1962; brothers, Clifford Patrick, Alfred Patrick, Roy Patrick; sisters, Hildred Risner, Mildred Seweed, Demma Lindsey, Edna Patrick, Sarah Agnes Salyers, Ina Sue Marshall. Those let to mourn includes sons, Matthew Watson and wife Jessica of Salyersville, Kentucky, Russell Watson of Salyersville, Kentucky; brother, Dewey Patrick Jr. of Salyersville, Kentucky, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Mary was the owner and operator of a local diner here in Salyersville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Big Lick Pentecostal Church in Salyersville, Kentucky. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially Mary Carpenter, and watching UK basketball. Funeral services for Mary Watson will be conducted Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home. Pastor Doug Auxier will deliver comforting words on the day of service. Burial will follow in the Reed & Watson Cemetery in Elsie, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Wednesday, October 19, after 5:00 PM, all day Thursday, October 20, and anytime Friday prior to funeral services. Arrangements are under the care of the Salyersville Funeral Home in Salyersville, Kentucky.

Mary worked for my parents at Mountain drive Inn restaurant where she met Russell Mary was a very special person to me and I always considered her as a dear good friend she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. So sad to hear of her passing.

I loved miss Mary I worked with her for a while at cozy corner my god that lady could cook and she had the best heart and she would tell you like it was that was just her that's why she was loved by so many she will be missed god bless
