MARY R. SABAT

CHICOPEE – Mary R. (Broderick) Sabat, 96, a lifelong resident of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019 in Baystate Medical Center with her family by her side.  Born in Holyoke July 20, 1923, the daughter of the late Michael J. and Margaret (Monaghan) Broderick, she was educated in Chicopee Schools and was a graduate of Holy Name High School.  She was employed as a Bookkeeper for Precision Camera in Chicopee for many years.  Mary was a lifelong communicant of Holy Name Church in Chicopee and was a member of the Chicopee Over 60 Club.  Her husband of 56 years, Louis S. Sabat, passed away on July 21, 2001. Mary is survived by her daughters, Margaret E. Beaupre and her husband Wilfred of Prescott, AZ and Kathleen M. Garrity and her husband Douglas of Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland; grandchildren, Russ Monroe (Lora) of Southwick, Julie Smith of E. Mirage, AZ, Jeff Beaupre (Susan) of Flagstaff, AZ and Mark Garrity (Melissa) of Southwick, MA; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith, Seth Schreffler (Daniela), Rachel, Brenna & Marleigh Monroe, Dylan & Aaron Beaupre and Mason & Max Garrity; great - great grandchildren, Aniah & Athena Schreffler.  The funeral service for Mary will begin on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 with a calling hour from 9 a.m. until 10:15 in the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee.  The Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Name Parish Church at Assumption Church, 104 Springfield St., Chicopee at 10:30.  Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Brightside for Families & Children, 2112 Riverdale St., West Springfield, MA, 01089.  For online condolences, please visit www.corridanfuneral.com.
