I am so saddened to hear that Mary Ellen has passed. I did not know she was sick, and I am so sad. Like many others, she made the most positive impression in my personal and professional life both during and after graduating. I will forever be thankful for her influence upon my life. Professor Sartoris was a wonderful teacher and made a difference in my social work career. She gave me confidence in my ability to help others. She was not only a wonderful professor but a great person. Her kindness shined through and her presence was always welcoming.

I'm beyond grateful to have had a class taught by her. Ms. Sartoris made sure her students were successful in every way shape and form. She has impacted me a ton as a social worker and I couldn't thank her enough.

I was so sadden to hear of Professor Sartoris passing. She was one of those professors who challenged you to be better, to be constantly learning, and always be there for others. She was a one of a kind professor and the social work profession lost a great one.

The loss of Professor Sartoris deeply saddens me. She made a huge impact in my personal and professional life. I would always purposely register for her classes. She definitely taught me things that I will forever use in my personal and professional life. Mary Ellen had a beautiful spirit and I will truly miss her presence forever.
