Love to Fern and David. I am in Santa Cruz for my 60th high school reunion and tomorrow. I´m going over to Donna`s who lives next-door to where Your mom lived with the beautiful garden. Being here around her birthday time is always a moving experience for me and waves of fond memories wash over me frequently when I´m back in Santa Cruz. I know you miss her because I know how much I miss her.

Memories I have of Marcella are still so strong. We connected in the late 90s and found so much to share in the art world. I adopted her as my third mother! And I loved her very, very much!

Marcella was a dear friend to me in the past 15 years, and I'm happy to have known her and you, Fern and David, my whole life. She amazed me by learning about the computer in her 80s and her poetry was insightful and clever. I miss her and I know you do too. I'm so glad I was there for her 98th birthday party!

I remember your Mom very well throughout our school years together at Mission Hill and I pray for God's peace and comfort during this sad time for your family.

I remember Marcella as 'Fernie's' Mom, many years ago in the early 60s. Amazing that she lived to be 98 and was still writing poetry. Our mother, Nikki Sharp, was a friend of Marcella's (both doctor's wives)in the 50s and 60s. She is 98 as well and living on Vancouver Island(she is Canadian). Our family sends you our condolences and remembrances of your mother, and your father as well. What a marvelous woman and so accomplished.
