Mary Geraldine Nitsch Serviente

Gerry and I became friends many years ago and kept up through harp conferences, phone calls, and shared prayers. Although I new how sick she's been, I was still shocked this morning to receive an email about her death. Barry my heart goes out to you. She was such a caring wonderful woman and a great encourager to all in the harp community, not only in our harp lives, but also in our personal lives. I will miss her greatly.

My condolences to the Serviente and Nitsch families on the loss of their beloved Mary. She "friended" me on Facebook when she discovered I was a classmate of her brother Norbert's at St. Bernardine's in the late 1950s. I admired her and will very much miss voicing our opinions on Facebook. Paul H. Belz

Gerry was a long-time member of Renaissance Institute in Baltimore, MD, taking classes via Zoom. We will miss her presence in our classes. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Everyone in the Somerset Folk Harp Festival community mourns the loss of "Gerry", who founded the festival in 2001. She touched the lives of many through the festival and the promotion of harp, which has connected so many of us. I bet you're showing those harp players in heaven a thing or two, Gerry!
