Back in the 70s I was a student at the University of Redlands, and president of the Newman Club. You and your secretary Doris were so helpful to me in that ministry. I live in Nashville now. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved wife. I know your faith will sustain you and your family as you grapple with this event. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Much love for our sweet and dearest cousin and her family. She will be missed and thought of daily.

Mary Jim was always such a delightful person. Friends and family join you in celebrating a life well lived. We are thinking of you and you are in our prayers.

I lost touch with the Shockleys years ago, but I never forgot the kindness and warmth of both Mary Jim and Don. During my formative and adolescent years, I spent many hours at their home, and loved being around Mary Jim.

Mary Jim was a sweet person who always demonstrated the softer side of what being a mother means, which meant a lot to me at that time. I still remember her laugh and incredible knack for making amazing desserts.
