Bishop Smith, Jim and I have been praying for Mary Ellen's body to recover full health. I can picture phyllis Long standing with outstretched arms to receive her, saying in her inimitable way,"Mary Ellen,welcome home."

May God comfort you with his peace as you place Mary Ellen in the arms of Jesus. I remember her fondly from my years serving with you at St. Michael's in South Bend. My heart aches with you in this difficult time of parting.

Dabney, Ashton, Alicia, & Dabney my heart goes out to all of you. Mary Ellen is a wonderful soul. One who we all have been blessed to know. Sweet, kind, nurturing, and supportive. She now resides with our Lord and will be waiting to join all of you again.
Remember that friendship improves happiness, and abates misery; by doubling our joys and dividing our grief. Take comfort in your family and your friends.

Dabney, my heart broke for you the minute I heard how sick Mary Ellen was. I can't come up with the words to describe what you and Mary Ellen meant to the Hardy family - probably not even my place to say. But thank you both just the same for being there and I'll never forget Mary Ellen's Grace or yours....
