VIRGINIA BEACH VA - MARY LENA MILLS SOUTHERS, 86, died Wednesday May 15, 2002. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM , Sunday, May 19, 2002 at the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry with interment in the Church Cemetery. Watson-Hunt Funeral in charge of arrangements in Perry. She retired with 43 years as a secretary with the State of Virginia. She was a member of the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church and served as the secretary of the Church Conference and was a member of the Ladies Prayer Circle. She was also an organizer of an Outreach Ministry to Hill-Haven N.H. She was the widow of Carl Odell Southers Sr. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Agnes Holmes, Lucille Hatcher, and Maude Mitchell. She is survived by a son, Carl Southers of Newport News, VA; a sister, Alice Mustin of Perry; three brothers, Lewis Mills Jr of Virginia Beach VA; Johnny Mills of Cordele, and James Mills of Tallahassee.
