Not sure what to say?

Mary will be surely be missed by her family, friends and former colleagues. I was blessed to know her and worked with her at Palmer School for many years. She had that rare quality of grace and sweetness laced with just the right amount of "saltiness." Her priority above all was her family and she always asked about mine. She was always a teacher in every way and even taught me how to get my peonies to bloom over 25 years ago. Every spring, I have abundant blooms and I always think of...

Mrs. Spayde you will be missed. You were my kindergarten teacher at East Leonard elementary and you were a very special teacher to me. Love and prayers ♥

In the loving memory of a fabulous lady - only knew Mary for 3 years - all I can say is thank you for your kindness, your welcoming smile and hugs and for special memories at your cottage in Bay View. All who knew you are blessed. My love, prayers and sympathy to her family.

Palmer School was lucky to have Mary as a teacher and I was lucky to have her as my friend. We taught together for 20 years. She guided kindergarteners and many a parent with patience and kindness in that beginning year of school. Mary was known for her positive outlook and fun stories made only funnier by her innocent delivery. She had a way of making everyone feel like her best friend and that she was tickled to see you. Her Sam would make her blush when sharing about Mary and the rest...

My condolences to the family. God-Bless.

Dear Spayde Family,
Mrs. Spayde was my favorite teacher at Riverside Elementary and actually was
the most impactful teacher in my life. You left her room everyday with a smile on your face with new knowledge and confidence in yourself ! My brother Dan and I were talking about her this past summer how we both loved her! You were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma and Sister and I was Blessed to Call her The Best Teacher Ever !
Love to your family,
...

I met Mary 23 years ago. My husband taught with her at Palmer. Mary didn’t know me, but she came to my sister’s visitation. She was sooooo kind and comforting. Sending Mary’s family a heartfelt expression of sympathy.....I know your Mary memories will help all of you through the loss....

Mary was a true delight. She had a warm heart, generous nature, and a sweet laugh. We taught together for many years both in the home bound program and at Palmer. Mary loved her family deeply. We often heard stories of what Betsey, Carolyn & Kurt, Rachel, and Mitchell were doing. She was so proud of all of you. She’s now home with Sam in a place even more beautiful than her beloved Bay View. Mary will be missed. Pat Ryan
