It took me a moment to begin to write words fitting to describe who dear Mrs. Mary Stanley will forever be in the Whitman family time capsule. I remember anticipating the dinners she hosted - specifically the pastor anniversary dinners for Rev. Sam Whitman, my father. Condolences to the family in the loss of a great person. Heaven has gained a special, precious angel. Mrs. Stanley made a positive profound impact on me as a teacher at Alabama A&M. She also changed students live in Sylacauga, Al where one of my sisters had the honor of knowing her. Stay strong and reflect on the amazing live she lived in keeping her precious memories close at heart.

I first met the Stanleys on Limestone/Morgan Co. farm bus trips. And I live around the mountain from their farm in Morgan County which they shared for cattle meetings. Mary and Thornton have always been so gracious and friendly. We shall miss Mary and are praying for peace and comfort for the Stanley family.

My deepest condolences to Mr. Stanley and to Deirdre, Karen, Mister and Al. Deirdre and I have known each other since college and bonded as Southerners (and sorors) at Harvard Law School. We were delighted to find that our mothers shared the same birthday, and through the years have sent mutual birthday greetings. Through her amazing daughter, I came to know of Dr. Stanley's great works as an educator and advocate. May her legacy continue to inspire us, and may all who loved her draw comfort...

So sorry to read of Mrs. Mary passing. I traveled with her with the Cattle men's Association. She left a great impression with me during this travel. Visited the farm on an occasion. Mr. & Mrs. Thornton are two special people. Blessings to all the family.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of Mary Elizabeth. She was a great woman. I will be forever grateful for the love and care she showed my mother. She will be truly missed. May God bless the family and all the lives she has touched.
