Dear Scott and Katie:

We just wanted to send our heartfelt love and support as you go through the coming days and months. Having lost three of our four parents, we're more familiar with that journey than we'd like to be.
We had the great fortune of attending Scott and Katie's absolutetly beautiful wedding in Chicago - and at that time we had the opportunity to meet Scott's mom, Mary Ellen. Even though it was obviously not an easy trip, with her health concerns, you could...

Mom while receiving a national award for her horticultural work.

I'm stealing my Aunt Susan's idea and also submitting my eulogy to Mom...

Helen Keller once said, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved."

I think everyone here will agree that my mother certainly had an abundance of character. As well as being quite a character!

Altho
ugh I have memories of my mom from nearly every time in my life, it...

Since it's short, I thought I'd post my eulogy to Mary Ellen:

I am Susan Howard, and for as long as I can remember, I've been Mary Ellen's little sister. Although we never lived in the same house full time, the bond we shared was stronger than most siblings who share the same house or the same community. It was as if at times each of us was able to fill a hole in the other, and we were both stronger for it.

As a girl, I was privileged to share summers with Mary Ellen...

I always considered Mary Ellen my favorite Aunt and will never forget the time I spent with the family in Kremling as a kid. I love you Mary Ellen and am glad you are now an Angel watching over us.....God knows we need it!

Great memories of seeing Mary Ellen Stuart enjoy the wedding of Scott and Katie in Chicago...though we only met that weekend.....she left a lasting impression....a beautiful woman.....our thoughts and prayers to the family of Mary Ellen....

Mary Ellen will be missed by so many people, We are so thankfull we had her in our lives, without her we would not have the funny stories to tell, or had the fun we had with her, Butch an Ty rode and broke a lot of horses for her, those are good stories in them self. Our lives are a lot richer in having her for a friend. She will be missed but not ever forgotten. Thank you Mary Ellen for the great memories and friendship.

Mary Ellen will be missed, but she left behind happy memories that will always be with us. I am grateful for having had Mary Ellen's friendship.

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was an inspiration to others, in spite of her health problems---a very dear person to other horsemen, as well. Larry thought so much of her and her horse knowledge. Sharon Domeier
