Kathryn, My brother Bob was always there for me. From such a large family, I'm so sorry we don't all keep in touch. We do hope to make the family reunion this summer. Expect to see relatives I don't even know I have. Know he is in heaven with the rest of the klan(hopefully.) You are with us in thoughts and prayers and please keep in touch.

Susan and I will remember Bob for many things but for three in particular: (1) his love of service as an Electricians Mate in the Navy during WWII, (2) His love of his family, both by blood and by marriage and finally (3) his love of cards, especially euchre. We're going to miss those Saturday nights with a fulfilling meal and many many games of euchre. Our thoughts and our prayers are with you.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn DePue; children, Cheryl (Jim) Parsons, Roberta (Ken) Krawchuk, Edward DePue; stepchildren, Vincent Leonard, Virginia Knapp, Donald Leonard, Ruth (Mark) Toda, David (Christina) Homrighouse; sisters, Jeanette Williams, Eunice Quigley; brother, Donald DePue; nephew, John (Susan) DePue; grandchildren, Jim, Beth Parsons, Ridge, Robert DePue, Melanie, Christina, Carissa Krawchuk, James Knapp, David, Megan, Brian, Rachel Toda, Ryan Gowe; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Robert is predeceased by his sons, Stewart DePue (1965), Ivan DePue (1993); brothers, Frank, John, Raymond DePue; sisters, Betty Austin and Irene DePue. He was an active member of the VFW Post #6083 of Elmira, American Legion Post #154 of Elmira Heights, NY, Sampson WWII Veterans, Desron 52 Survivors. He enlisted in the United States Navy in February of 1944. He served on the destroyer USS Tingey (DD-539) in the Pacific during WWII. He worked for Spaulding Bakery and delivered milk with a horse drawn wagon for Houck Dairy. He was also employed at Westinghouse Electric, American Bridge Works and Seneca Army Depot. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904, Friday, January 4th, 2008, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Odessa, NY, at 2:00 p.m. with full Military Honors accorded in his honor.
