Not sure what to say?

I was thinking of Holly today and decided to do a search. So sorry for her passing, but many good memories from our time teaching together at 117.

Dear Mr. Topf,

Thank you so much for sharing your memories of Holly from early in her career. She often referred to her days at Adelphi. It was a very important time in her life.

Best,

Betsy Vennema Humes

Mary Vennema was my enormously influential high school teacher at Adelphi Academy, in 1956. I recall the day she came to class and informed us that she was no longer to be addressed as "Miss Webb" but from now on as "Mrs. Vennema." She used the opportunity, at a time when this wasn't done, to discuss the nature of married life, and the ethical obligations of marriage. Just one small instance testifying to what an amazing teacher, and person she was.

Dear Judi,

Thanks so much for sharing your memories of Holly and the West Village Nursery School. Both she and Carey worked to ensure the sustainability of the school and we are glad it continues to serve the community today.

When they accepted me - and Daniel - I was thrilled..and soon met Hollie, as Daniel and Carey became...
