It is with great sadness that I write this with the loss of a good friend. I will always remember with joy and happiness the times I've spent with both Mary Jean and Bruce.

My dear friend Mary Jean came into my life through great food and great art - we shared tall tales, good wine and hilarious times on the back porch of life. She will remain ever a strong presence in my life. I sing your song to one and all Mary Jean!

I met Mary Jean in the 80s and of course, Bruce. What a wonderful and lifegiving and life affirming woman Mary Jean embodied. I love looking at this photo and remembering the warmth of her eyes and smiling face.
She lived a life congruent with her values and beliefs. A woman to be missed by all. Kathy Brown

Bruce and Mary Jean's family,
Mary Jean was a devoted teacher at Whatcom Community College where we both worked for a number of years. I always appreciated her sense of humor. I also appreciated her as a fellow midwesterner, who settled in the PNW.
