Not sure what to say?

A Mary Wood Estate Sale....... We had fun. We relished in the discovery, always longing to be number 1, filled with envy for the first 24 number holders. Finally, rain, sleet or subzero temps endured in line, it was our turn to start the hunt for a crown jewel. But today, I now realize the real treasure was the memories. Farewell my friend, I've been beyond lucky to have know you.

Mary was a legend in Montclair and an icon of Yantacaw Brook. You could always tell the time by her comings and goings. Off to mass, getting fresh fruit and the paper for Jack. Into the car again for work at 10, home at 4:30. Hairdresser on Thursdays. Friday at 8am to give out numbers, off again at 9:30 for one of her incredible sales. Going by she would beep and give that slight wave. I guess we all need clocks now.
Mary was hardworking, loving and independent. She loved talking about...

Mary, you will always be remembered. That's a great wife, a great mother. A great-grandmother and a great friend of mine. Rest in peace my friend

I believe the thing that made Mary the happiest was her family. I suppose I knew Mary for close to 40 years, and without fail, when I would see her she would tell me about her children and grandchildren. Such a wonderful person, I am fortunate to have had her, and Jack, in my life.

Deep sadness for Mary's passing. She led a life that was so "true" in the most meaningful ways. Honest, generous, precise, smart, jovial, and tough, in the best kind of way. They truly don't make 'em like Mary, anymore. She was loved and will be missed.

When we moved to Montclair in 1970, our 1st ever house sale was Mary Wood's. Mary was always at a table by the front door greeting everyone with a smile & also handling the sales as people checked out. We have many beautiful objects purchased during these sales, our favorite is the grandfather clock in our livingroom. Mary always had a smile for everyone & was just a joy to be around. Condolences to her family.

Wonderful woman! I went to many of her estate sales and was her go to "clock" person. Bought quite a few treasures from her.

Mary was an icon. Professionally she was a trailblazer who set the standard for estate sales in northern New Jersey. A Mary Wood sale was a wonderfully executed event that everyone wanted to attend- and did, a thousand times over. Many people proudly to this day say their house was furnished by Mary Wood. Personally she was one of the most honest, earnest, witty, wonderful, determined and kind people to have ever drawn breath. All who knew her were fortunate. She will be deeply missed.
