Maria Luisa (Mary Louise) Zavala of Glendale, CA was born on November 28, 1927 and passed away on February 10, 2023 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eustolia and Teodulo Zavala and six siblings, Vicente (Chente), Concepcion (Chon), Josefina (Fina), Toyo (Ted), Jesus (Chino), and Herman (Eddie). She is survived by her brother Samuel (Sam), 29 nieces and nephews, almost as many grand nieces and nephews, numerous godchildren, and treasured sisters-in-law.
Mary worked for many years at Gladding McBean at its Glendale location hand painting its famous Desert Rose dinnerware. But she is most remembered for her unstinting and selfless devotion to the care and nurturance of all her family. She was a dutiful daughter, a loving sister and a motherly influence to all her nieces and nephews. She shared her deep faith with those she baptized and sponsored at confirmation. She was kind, forgiving and always saw the best in those she loved.
We are grateful for her generous spirit and the love she shared with us. We wish her God’s grace on her journey to heaven.
