Remembering Mary Ellen one year on.... Still hard to believe she is not planning some European trip or Mediterranean cruise that would have her wind up on our doorstep in Rome... Fond memories of meeting strapping grandson Charlie and touring Piazza Navona with him and of hooking up with daughter Lisa and simpatica friend in front of the statue of Pope John Paul II outside Termini Station. Will never forget our long ago Paris days and snowstorms in Renssaleur and clam chowder on Long Beach...

I am an old friend of MaryEllen's from her Paris days in the late 60s-early 70s. Those were indeed the days, my friend!
Hailing from Cleveland, I also had the pleasure of visiting with her in the States, both at her home in Rensselaer and on vacation on Long Beach Island (NJ), where she and my Italian husband Bruno had long philosophical talks over clam chowder. She visited us several times at our home in Rome, Italy, and her high energy, acute sense of humor, and intellectual curiosity...
