Marylou Torrey

My condolences to the family. I just learned about Marylou´s passing. I knew ML as my piano teacher, a friend of my moms, choir director. I was always in awe not only from her amazing talent, and her fashion presence. The only person ever knew that had her own "Closet" of the latest new fashion at Brauns. I know that she is in the comfort of heaven and friends who preceded her.

Marylou is a part of so many music memories in the life of First Presbyterian Church and the Rapid City community. She played the music at our wedding and accompanied so many of us vocalists and instrumentalists with amazing skill. We shared a love of chocolate. Most importantly, she shared a deep faith with young and old. Well done, good and faithful servant! Sincerely, Michele Johnson

Marylou was a great friend to my friend, Eric Johnson. Together, they were icons in the musical theater community in the Black Hills. I had the honor of auditioning with Marylou as accompanist many times, and performing in musical theater productions with Marylou on keyboards. The last production I did with Marylou was The Fantastiks I believe. She was kind, patient ... I have nothing but the fondest of memories. Rest in peace, dear Marylou. I will recall with great fondness Marylou´s contributions to classical and church music in Rapid City. Best wishes to all those that are grieving her.

I'm so sad to hear this. For so any years she was so much a part of the church. Im thankful that I knew her....a wonderful lady. God bless.
