Not sure what to say?

I met Marylu at the post office in about 1966. I had rented a stone cabin in town. My affection for Marin County and Woodacre became a core value lasting to this day. Just this week I planned a visit for this summer after 30 years away. I phoned Mary just a couple years ago to tell her I have loved her all this time. I had a lifetime career as a postal worker after developing my admiration for Mary's life philosophy. I loved her.

Mary and Andy; I just found out that your mother has passed. She was a great lady and mother to you guys. I remember the stories my dad and George told about Al and your Mother. God Bless her, Al and you. Remember the good times you had with mom and Dad. And I am blessed to have visited them at Weber Lake and their home @ Woodacre!

Plus mom and dad would want you guys to have great hunting and fishing in the future! GOD BLESS YOU GUYS!

My condolences to all family members. This truly is an end of an era.

As a former member of the Woodacre Improvement Club board of directors for several years, I had the privilege of being able to hear Mary Lou Giddings' take on issues she favored, as well as issues that annoyed her greatly. Her opinionated comments on both, always seems to be a straight shot of the facts. No messing around for Mary Lou!

My sad condolences to her family.

Where else but Woodacre could you have a Postmaster like Marylu Giddings who who put your mail in your post box even if it didn't have your PO Box number on the envelop? She knew everyone!! Sorry to hear she has passed on.

I was saddened to learn of Mary's passing. It was wonderful to know both Mary and Al and have the opportunity to fish and hunt with them. When I stopped by to say hi to her just a couple of months ago, I did not know that would be the last time. I will always remember her.

I remember looking forward to picking up the family mail. She always had good things to say and could talk to anyone and hold their interest. As a kid, I was friends with her son Andy and her daughter Marylu, and visiting their house was always fun. They had great parents!

I'm saddened to know that some of our old school mates parents are passing. Even though I was from the other side of the Valley. I still knew Marylu. Heard children went to school with my older brother and sister Roberta and Tim. Our condolences!

In my youth, I would open PO Box 162 in the old post office to get the mail, and I would hear a "Hi David" from behind the wall. how did she know it was me? She always knew. Mary was a fantastic person and to say she bonded with young and old is an understatement. She was always friendly and supportive, and when I left Woodacre and came back for a visit, I often stopped by Mary and Al's house. Mary would always offer lunch and ask what's going on in my life. Mary did not mince words and...
