Matilda Robinette McConnell, 89, a longtime resident of Kingsport, Tennessee, a teacher with the Scott County School System for 36 years before her retirement, passed away at Holston Valley Medical Center on Sunday, October 27, 2002, following a brief illness. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2002, 1-3 p.m., at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 800 Truxton Drive, Kingsport. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, 3 p.m., at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Mark Fleenor. Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Crossroads United Methodist Church, 200 Bays Cove Trail, Kingsport, TN 37660 or The Robinette United Methodist Church, c/o Paul Berry, RFD 3, Clinchport, VA 24244.
