Matthew ?Matt? Clark Kennington, age 20, of Wake Village, Texas, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Kennington was born January 24, 1995, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Texas High School and a member of Oakridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Angie Kennington, of Wake Village, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Kayleigh and Drew Johnson of Fouke, Arkansas; one brother Zachary Kennington of Wake Village, Texas; his grandparents, Don and Genell Wells of Texarkana, Texas, Rachel Cates of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Jerry and Betty Sumner of Ashdown, Arkansas, along with other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Matt's nurses, Allison Pogue and Randi Jones.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Oakridge Missionary Baptist Church in Maud, Texas with Rev. Ronnie Pipes and Rev. Johnny Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery, Maud, Texas under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jeff, Angie and Family. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember when Matt was born. Such a beautiful child who grew to be a handsome young man. I pray that the Lord will help you find peace though the tough times now and for the days to come.

How devoted and loving you all were to him and how much I admired the way each of you cared for Matt and loved him. He was truly blessed to have been placed in your care by God.
