The few times I dealt with him, I knew he was a kind hearted soul... he is missed by so many..., what a tribute to him. He is still with us all as a guardian angel...

i knew matt when we were kids, knew charlie, he was the sheriff when i was in eureka. matt was a happy-go-lucky kid. can't believe 5 years ago his life was taken from everyone. what a wonderful experience of love he offered so many, years before he was in a position to protect. just want to send family and friends a moment of silence of loving thoughts, remembering matt and the many lives he touched, his whole life.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Samuels family for the great void that has been left in their lives with the loss of Matt.
As a former resident of Eureka and a brother in Law Enforcement it pains me to hear of his cruel passing.
Matt was always kind to me when I was growing up.
The world remembers and now misses this defender.
