Pellizzer, Matteo age 86, of Apple Valley, died May 19, 2007. Preceded in death by parents, Sebastiano and Maria Pellizzer. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Nida; children, Kristine (Roger) Strauman, Timothy (Brenda), Todd, Michael (Jane) and Jinny (Jim) Armour; 9 grandchildren, Ben, Kari, Sebastian, Nida, A.J., Declan, Isabella, Sophia, Matteo; sister, Dorothy Marcon; sister-in- law, Mary Murphy; nieces, nephews and friends. Matteo was born in St. Paul and then spent the first 16 years of his life in Italy. He had a love of Italian culture and food that infused his life. He was an army veteran of WWII serving with Co C 9 Inf Regt 2 Div. He was the owner of the Happy Host Cafe in South Mpls for 30 years. Matteo was active in his sons' business, Sebastian Joe's Ice Cream Cafe. After retirement his passions included golf and stained glass. He had many friends at Parkview Golf Course and designed many pieces of stained glass for family and friends. Matteo will be remembered for his sense of humor, storytelling, infectious love of life and his strong faith. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Poor Clare Monastery, 8650 Russell Ave. So., Bloomington 55431. Interment Fort Snelling Cemetery.
