I've not had the privilege of knowing Matt for a long period of time; our paths have only recently crossed via LNHARS. But in that short time, I've encountered a warm, entertaining and gregarious individual who always seemed to have a smile on his face. Just last week, Matt and I were commiserating the passing of our fathers and, although he likely didn't know it at the time, that conversation helped me tremendously to deal with the anniversary of my father's death and all the emotions...

I met Matt during the COVID craziness. I could not get thru to unemployment. They owed me many weeks. I sent Matt a message and he called me. He had the woman on Murphy's broadcast call me and we received our back payments. So sad to hear that he passed. He impacted people that no one knew about. Forever grateful for his help.

I worked with Matt while at NJ Advance Media for a few years. He was a smart and thoughtful journalist and a kind person. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
