Lesley and family it was such a joy to know Matt and your family. First it was softball, a civilian lawyer who always gave me great advice. A Jag officer and we were both in the reserves together. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with him at the base in the JAG offices. He was well liked and respected.

I first met Matt in the eighties when he was handling cases at GA 10, where I was a prosecutor. He was always prepared, knowledgeable, good spirited, and mature beyond his years. He was dedicated to his clients and his judgment was invariably sound. More recently I carpooled to judicial committee meetings with him and the late Ralph Monaco.
