Not sure what to say?

I met Matt in 1995 when he was staying in New Orleans. We became friends and pen pals. As technology progressed so did our writing ways. We traded emails and visited on Facebook. Even though I have only seen Matt on two occasions, I considered him a good friend. He was a truly kind person who deserved more years of life. I was devastated to find out of his passing, my heart and prayers go out to his friends and family.

Barr family,
We are so sorry to hear about Matt's passing. Our thoughts and prayers will be with all of you and may God bring you comfort and peace each coming day.

It never fails that the good ones always get called home way too soon. There is no doubt in my mind that this is why Matt was called home. What a legacy he left ....... in PC Squadron ONE, the Navy and in life. From one rider to another..... I know that Matt is riding the Highways and By-Ways of heaven....... keep the shiny side up my friend.

The passing of Matt Barr was breath taking among PC Crew Foxtrot members. He was a great Chief that refused to standby the sidelines when there was work to be done. He believed in leading from the front an setting the example not watching from behind. He was a great friend and I was proud to have him as a Brother Master Mason.

It's been a long time since I seen Matt, I will never forget him.

Our deepest sympathies and strongest Prayers are with the family during their time of mourning. You will be missed Brother!
The Braswell's

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy and prayers to the Barr family and Patrol Coastal family. A mentor and teacher, he was an integral part to the success of USS TEMPEST in 2010.

My wife and I would like to extend our prayers and deepest sympathy to the Barr family at this time. Chief Petty Officer Barr was an superb technician and outstanding friend working within the Patrol Coastal community. His legacy will live on with the many sailors he led and trained!

"On behalf of Patrol Coastal Crew KILO, I'd like to offer our deepest sympathies to Chief Petty Officer Barr's family and friends. He was a true Chief Petty Officer and Shipmate, and an embodiment of our Navy's Core Values." - LCDR Ryan Ventresca, USN, Commanding Officer.
