To my father, Matthew P. Boylan,
you were generous to a fault, always kind to those in need and dearly loved me more than I ever deserved. I hope you are in a better place.

Matt Boylan, my grandfather, was the best mentor I've ever had. He was the smartest, wisest, and most humorous person I have and will ever encounter.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Boylan family. Matt was an exceptional person in every way. He was a brilliant attorney, kind, generous to a fault and extremely charismatic. I feel fortunate to have known him and to have worked for him. He will be greatly missed by anyone who ever had the pleasure of having known him. Love, Sue Cole

an extremely tall leprechaun, bigger than life, romantic to a fault. only two partners voted to keep the firm in newark, long after it made sense...matt and yours truly. i kind of thought of him as my father's wild and crazy younger brother, the uncle i never had...he was so loyal to my father even to the very end and I will love him forever for that

Could anyone imagine creation of a
closeness that lasted for more than
20 years between a recent emigree
from the former U.S.S.R. and a Great
Man and a prominent attorney?.I am
blessed for knowing Matthew,to me a symbol of The Land of Freedom.

Dear Matt:

Your spirit and persona will be sorely missed. I will miss your heartfelt pearls of wisdom as well as your guidance on many of life's challenges. People can always point to a handful of people who have helped shaped their lives and clearly you are one such person in my life.

The legal community has lost a great legal mind and a person who represented all that is good in being a lawyer.

Your friend,
