Our very special and wonderful son, Matthew Scott Chapman, 17, of Huntington, passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 in Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 2 PM, Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Jerry Ryder officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Pallbearers will be Thomas McComas, Sean Carey, Shannon Lewis, Darrick Lewis, Chad Adkins, and Bucky Buchanan. He was born March 29, 1989 in Huntington, WV, beloved son of Kenny and Barbara Chapman of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Rex Scarberry. In addition to his parents, Kenny and Barbara he is also survived by his sister, Christina “Chrissy” Chapman of Huntington; paternal grandparents, Darrell and Phyllis Chapman of Lesage; maternal grandmother, Alta Scarberry of Huntington; his aunts, Lugenia Walizer of Huntington and Tanya Justice of Grayson, KY; his uncles, Toby Chapman of Huntington, Jeff Chapman of Proctorville, OH, and Rex Allen Scarberry of Huntington; very special aunt, Kelli King and her husband, Jimmy of Huntington; cousins, Shane, Chris, Shannon, Shawn, Steven, Mandi, Brady, Sam, Kaylan, Eric, Joseph, and James; and many friends. Matt was always full of life and very outgoing. He enjoyed life to its fullest. We will miss his blue eyes and his smile. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Matt was a wonderful person and I will never forget him. He always knew how to make me smile, and I loved him for that. I will continue to pray that you find the strength to make it through this difficult time.

I was upset when I learned what had happend. I have some fond memmories of Matt when he was younger. Especially giving him drum lessons, out in the garage. I am so sorry for you loss of a great son, and a good person. Please know that there is not a day that I do not say a prayer for the Chapman family.

I'm sorry for your loss. I lived just down the road from matt and we were great friends I will always remember him and the good times we had together. He will be missed dearly.

Matt was a fun loving guy and very outgoing person.He was a good friend to me.I will truley miss him.
