Matthew J. Chlebanowski, 46, of Aurora died December 10, 2014 in Mercy Hospital, Aurora. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday in Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Wednesday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. He was born July 29, 1968 in Norridge, IL to Matthew and Barbara (Rogers) Chlebanowski. He was employed as a floor supervisor by Hollywood Casino in Aurora and most recently by the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Matthew and Esther Chlebanowski, Mendota; two brothers, Kenneth Chlebanowski of Texas and Thomas Chlebanowski of Arizona; one sister, Marlene Beaver of Florida; his companion, Brenda Delgado of Aurora. He was preceded by his mother. Memorials in his memory may be given to the donor's choice.

My brother-in-law Matt was a wonderful guy. Everyone, including myself, loved his goofy sense of humor and never grow up attitude. Many years ago, Matt watched our cat Otis for us when we were out of town. When we returned Matt, who wasn't much of a cat lover, said "Dude, I don't usually like cats, but that cat is really cool!" Otis passed a few years ago. I hope that Matt and Otis are together now. Everyone should have a cool cat! Miss you very much Matt. Brenda, much love and open...

I worked with Matt at GVC and found him to be a very kind and understanding supervisor as well as friend. He made work fun when he was our "Superfloor". My condolences go out to Brenda, her family who also loved him, and of course the Chlebanowski family. Rest in Peace Matt!
