Peppler Funeral Home - Bordentown Obituary

Matthew B. Decker tragically and unexpectedly passed away, alongside his family, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, from rapid complications of septic shock stemming from an unknown infection. Matthew, also known as “Bud Bud,” was deeply loved and cherished throughout his short life. Known by all who met him for his sweet and adorable personality, Matthew was known by those close to him for being brave. Matthew was born on April 27, 2023. He overcame a traumatic birth and miraculously defied the odds with his incredible healing and developmental progress. He successfully underwent open-heart surgery when he was just eight months old. His story was endearing and powerful and his beautiful life inspiring and comforting. Matthew was an honorary employee at his parents’ chiropractic clinic and was often seen bouncing in his “ice cream truck” bouncer. He was undoubtedly a mama’s boy and shared a deep connection and love with her. Matthew was adored by his siblings. They lovingly devoted their time to him. Matthew enjoyed watching his brother play video games, and he attended “baby-school” taught by his sisters in their bedroom. Matthew loved playing his piano, crawling, and playing with his dogs and cats. He truly was his father’s best friend and they spent countless hours playing and hanging out. Matthew was a member of the New Life Assembly. All will weep that the end of his life came suddenly and mourn that his life in years lived was ultimately short. However, the love he brought into this world was immeasurable. All loved Matthew dearly.

Predeceased by his grandfather, Kermit W. Pigott, he is survived by his parents, David and Alyssa Decker; brother Maxwell; sisters Myla and Mikayla; great-grandmother Janet Pigott; great-grandfather Llywellon Mohr; grandmothers Debra Pigott and Laurie Decker (Jeff Liable); grandfather Keith Decker (Bobbie); uncles Zachary Pigott (Bonnie), Daniel Pigott (Madison), and Ryan Decker; aunts Kara Del Gaudio (Anthony) and Sarah Decker; cousins James Pigott, Rhett Pigott, Paige Pigott, Sawyer Pigott, Emery Pigott, Cole Del Gaudio, Carter Del Gaudio, Joshua Decker, Ashlynn Decker, and Olive Decker, and many more loving family members.

A Celebration of Life for Matthew will be held on Sunday, December 8 at the New Life Assembly, 131 E. Main St., Wrightstown, NJ. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with a service beginning at 5:00 pm. There will be a reception following the service in the church cafe.

Matthew would have led a life of serving others, participating in his community, and cherishing the grace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In his honor and in lieu of gifts to the family, we request any donations be made to his church, which welcomed him with open arms and where his parents embraced him during worship. Please go to www.newlifeassembly.tv to make any donations in Matthew’s memory.
