Not sure what to say?

The news of Matt's passing leaves a big void in my heart that is only filled with good memories of him. In high school, Matt was first chair trombone, and I was second chair for 4 years next to him. We were in the same graduation class. Matt is responsible for some of the best memories I have of my younger years, and in life. Words cannot describe the fun and energy Matt brought to everyone around him. Matt was one of the brightest people I have ever known; one that knew how to have fun...

I will remember forever every Georgetown basketball game we ever attended -- especially the Syracuse games at the Cap Center and the Final Four in Lexington in 1985 -- and the Durbin family's hospitality. i have never been able to look at Mary Lou Retton the same since that Halloween Party in Village A. And, I have never heard the phrase "You're through" without thinking of Matt and how much better he was at saying it than anyone ever.

Just when I thought I might be the loudest parent at a Miller's baseball game... Along came Mr. Durbin (aka Patrick's dad)! We'll miss you in the stands this spring, but your presence will be there. Our condolences to the Durbin family. So very sorry for your loss.

I am absolutely crushed by this news, as I haven't seen Matt since High School. Matt "Dibble" Durbin lived across the street when we were kids and we spent a lot of time hanging out in the hood. I also played trombone in the Ballard High School Band with him for two years, he was a great musician and friend and I learned a lot him. Thanks for all of the great childhood memories my friend and RIP! My thoughts are with his love ones.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have many memories of great times together with Matthew (aka "Dibble") going back to 5th grade, little league baseball, attending Red's games with father Hugh, and through high school at Ballard. I remember Matthew as an athlete and a sports enthusiast, a musician, and an intellect. But above all I remember Matthew as a loyal and trustworthy friend.

RIP, Buddy, and......Go...

I went to Ballard with Matthew and remember him being a quiet person who had kind words to everyone.People used to ask if we were siblings. No kin .I am so very sorry for you loss.He is an angel in heaven now.God always takes the best.God Bless you all
