Matt was our Best Man at our wedding 45 years ago. Unfortunately as the years went by, we didn't stay in touch with him. He was a fun loving all around great guy! Our condolences to his family at this sad time.

Matt was a kind and gentle man. He will forever be in my memory.

Matt’s saying in our 1972 Notre Dame yearbook:

“Nothing can be purchased which is better than a precious friend”.

How fitting for a guy who was loved by many of his ND classmates.

To the Durr Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. In the tradition of a great family, Matt brought his specialness to the party. The memories that have been shared are an example of his kind and generous spirit. RIP Matt and may your family continued to be blessed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to my good friend Melanie and the whole Durr family. Matt was the nicest person you will ever meet. Always a smile and a kind word. He will be greatly missed. I feel blessed to have known him. Rest in Peace Matt.
