Not sure what to say?

I knew Matt for several years, first when we worked in Las Vegas for a bit, then when we built the Ledges in St.George. On seeing me during his frequent visits, his first question would always be "what are we going to go around on today". Matt would stick to his guns, I would stick to mine, and throughout the course of a day or two, we would reach compromises and agreements, ultimately what made the Ledges a course good enough to make it into the top 10 for Golf Digest- something Matt...

I was moved when I read Matthew's recent obituary, for several reasons. First, he and I are roughly the same age. Second, I am the owner of Castle Creek Resort next to the Castle Creek Country Club that I understand was designed by the Dye family. Third, I was especially touched to learn that his motto, "the more the merrier" is the same as mine, as you can see from a recent article in the North County Times:

Dear Family of Matt Dye,
I never had the pleasure of meeting Matt, but was reading the obituary's because my Dad's is next to his
( Jeff Jensen) What struck me as interesting is the golf connection, my Dad was an avid golfer and I can't help but smile knowing they are on the eternal golf course, having a blast. I know how difficult the last two weeks have been for the family, as we share in your grief. Your family is my daily prayers.

I was very saddened to hear of Matt's death. It's been many years since I saw him, but have fond memories of him in grade school at St. Mary's and agian connecting with him when he was in our wedding in 1984. I remember Matt as being very warm and carefree and he always was a joy to be around. I extend my sincere sympathy to all of the family and wish you all peace and comfort in the days ahead.

The Capron Family

I was saddened to hear about Matt's passing. Even though I had not seen Matt since college, he was one of those people you never forget. Just seeing his picture brought back fond memories of him at the Delt house and how he was always able to make those around him smile, laugh and feel at ease. My sincere condolences go out to his family. While his life was shorter than others, I am also confident it was fuller than most. My prayers are with Matt and with you.
